We do not install double glazing we repair it. We are not interested in selling you double glazing and are keen to help you save money. Many companies will tell customers that their double glazing needs to be replaced when we can repair and restore it, making it fully operational. Double glazing is expensive to install and most people find it one of the biggest expenditures in the home. It is therefore crucial that customers know that most double glazing can be repaired at a fraction of the cost of replacing.

We carry a large stock of replacement items on the vans but obviously cannot carry them all as the range is very extensive. If we do not have a particular matching item in stock we will order and fit as soon as possible. If the item is obsolete we can match as near as possible to the existing.

A common problem with customers is that windows do not close properly or they are sticking. Often this is solved by replacing the hinges. Friction hinges - scissor type hinges found on most double glazing windows - can become worn or broken and will not allow the window to pull tight to the frame. The window will then leak or become draughty. These friction hinges can be easily replaced.

We can replace most window locks to suit the existing double glazing. Restrictors, which restrict the opening of a window, can be installed or repaired. They can be unlocked to allow the window to open fully. Restrictors can be put on a child's bedroom window as a safety measure.

We can match most types of handles and if the handle is obsolete it can be matched to a very similar handle.

We carry a stock of the most common door hinges on the vans but there is a wide variety of hinges on the market. If a matching hinge cannot be located it can be replaced with a similar hinge or converted to a suitable hinge to suit the type of window or door.

Doors often drop and they can be removed, hinges adjusted and the door replaced. Sometimes it is a case of packing the glass 'Toe to Heel' to raise the height of the door.

Patio doors often do not operate correctly and become jammed. Some window companies will try to sell you a new patio door when it is often just a case of removing the doors and repairing the runners and track. We again can save you, the customer, money.

All mechanisms on tilt and turn windows can be repaired or replaced.

Sealed Units

We can replace all types of sealed units with any pattern glass. Sealed units often become misted. This happens when the seal has broken down between the two panes of glass. Replacement sealed units are not expensive and can easily be replaced making your windows look as good as new.
